Finished taking the Perspectives Course... WOW!

"Behold, the fear of the Lord, that IS wisdom, and to turn away from evil IS understanding." [Job 28:28]
"Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way." [Proverbs 19:2]
In our most honest moments we must confess that there is no way to understand what we don't know, and that desire without knowledge is not good. We're content with expecting life to continue on as we've experienced it in the past, because there's no vision (no testimony if you will) for a different future. It's because our world lacks this testimony that we perish. Our family wants to re-establish that testimony in the land and to the farthest coastlands - for the joy of all peoples!
But how can we gain understanding the way Job 28:28 describes? How can we identify evil and turn from it? How can we seek out knowledge to add to our desire and therefore miss our way in our hastiness. The first step to THIS kind of understanding is to admit that we can't understand what you don't know! So our pledge this year was to begin hearing the TESTIMONY of God's glory and people's involvement throughout history, today and in the future. By doing this we've had the opportunity to know how to turn away from evil and fear the LORD!
Have I acknowledged that I can't understand what I don't know? Have I confessed that in my desire to do something good I've hastily made off in a wrong direction because I didn't acquire the proper knowledge that would lead to a Job type understanding? Do I know where I can go to hear God's testimony? Am I prepared to turn from the evil that the light of His Testimony will reveal - even if it means letting go of everything I once held dear? The TEOTE! cause is challenging me to pledge to take that step. When my wife and I took the challenge this winter through a course called "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement", our eyes and ears were opened to many things that we didn't even know that we didn't knew. How will you hear the testimony today?
